Description:

Located ~15km north-east of Wellington township. The 125 MW AC facility will cover an area of 375 hectares and consist of up to 450,000 PV panels installed on a single axis tracking system. There is an existing Essential Energy 132kV powerline which connects with the Wellington substation. The proposal is being put forward by a joint venture of Canadian Solar (51%), Photon Energy (approximately 25%) and Polpo Investments (approximately 24%). The project will also support up to 150 local construction jobs over the 12-month construction period.
