AltEnergy’s year ends with a bang, and a website upgrade
Published Date : 2025-December-10, Wednesday
HIGHLIGHTS
- 2025 is ending with an incredibly high level of
industry activity; 2026 should be bigger
- AltEnergy has just completed a website upgrade giving
it a refreshed appearance
- Additional functionality and information fields have
been added to the online database
- Our product delivery partner Rosetta Analytics
achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification
- New subscribers can receive a 20% discount on
all subscriptions before the end of the year
2025 is certainly not slipping away quietly with solar, wind and BESS project activity levels as high as our team can remember. If this level of activity is anything to go by 2026 promises to be monumental, especially as industry momentum continues to build and – among other positive signs - state and federal planning / environmental processes are streamlined.
Plus at AltEnergy we have been extra busy towards the end of the year to launch a website upgrade that offers a fresher, more contemporary appearance; one highlight being the project details datasheet as shown here.
But it’s not all just cosmetic. We have added more
functionality and data/ information categories.
First, we will now formally classify all projects according to four levels which are shown below. We thought this change was necessary to give users clarity following the introduction of our enhanced mapping and project boundary capabilities.
· Level 1: Highest accuracy, digital extraction from official source
·
Level 2: High to medium-high accuracy,
analogue/raster extraction from official source
·
Level 3: High accuracy, single pin location
within project boundary from official source
·
Level 4: Low accuracy, single pin location to
nearest town or geographical location – no official source
A highly accurate, digital map (level 1) is not available for all projects and for some boundaries we have to extract them from a PDF or other raster source (level 2), which we acknowledge is not as accurate as level 1. We are thankful to have these advanced proprietary tools enabling us to extract both the digital and raster files as provided by our partner Rosetta Analytics.
Other less advanced projects will have just a single point location marker, either accurately from an official source (level 3) or, rarely, a reference only to the nearest town or geographical feature (level 4).
We have started the process of adding the new location accuracy levels for all the projects in our database and plan to go live with this information early in the new year.
More new data fields
We have also added three new data fields into the project
details.
1. Additional Capacities
2. Expected Operational Date (Approved/Under construction
only)
3. Expected Jobs (Approved/Under construction only).
Additional capacity will capture the other planned capacities, apart from the primary source, for the increasing number of mixed or hybrid projects.
All projects have a primary source of generation, for example wind, which is recorded in the Primary Capacity field. But in cases where the developer also intends to add solar and/or BESS components, perhaps in the future or as a secondary element, we can now capture those individual additional capacities.
Estimated Operational Date explains itself but will only apply to the relatively more mature projects (status of Approved, FID/Under construction or Commissioning/connection) so we are not trying to predict too far into the future.
And Expected Jobs, again for mature projects in the development pipeline, for Peak Construction and Ongoing Operational categories should also be self-explanatory.
These will only appear in the details for each project when applicable, and will be displayed at the bottom of the standard details in the project datacard (as shown above).
For Generating projects in our database, the most current official AEMO Marginal Loss Factor units will be added as requested by some of our users.
Our team will be working hard to have these updated over the coming weeks.
2025 has been a transformative year for us at AltEnergy. Since the start of the year we have been offering unique new features such as data deep analysis tool Renewables Radar and Megawatt +SDL which offers on-demand whole of database downloads, including polygon boundary shapes, through our relationship with Rosetta Analytics.
Rosetta Analytics recently achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the world's best-known standard for information security management systems (ISMS).
Conformity with ISO/IEC 27001 is given when “an organisation or business has put in place a system to manage risks related to the security of data owned or handled by the company, and that this system respects all the best practices and principles enshrined in this International Standard”.
This achievement reflects on AltEnergy through the data-rich and cutting-edge information and tools Rosetta Analytics provides through our platform, which means our users can be confident in the security and processes behind these services.
