Published Date : 2023-July-24, Monday
Vena Energy plans to continue expanding its Tailem Bend
project in South Australia by adding a second, much larger battery energy
storage system of 204 MW/ 816 MWh capacity.
If approved, the Tailem Bend 3 BESS and ancillary
infrastructure will be built on an approximate 3.5 hectare site and connect to
the NEM via ElectraNet’s 275kV Tailem Bend Substation, located approximately
250m east.
Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months
with a peak workforce of up to 100 people.
The project is in close proximity to Vena’s Tailem Bend 1
and Tailem Bend 2 Solar Farms, and the under construction 42 MW Tailem Bend 2
BESS project.
