Maryvale Solar Farm could almost double in capacity

Wirsol Energy is planning to almost double the capacity of
its proposed Maryvale Solar Farm, located approximately 15km north-east of
Wellington in the Dubbo Regional Council LGA.
The company has submitted a development consent modification
application to the NSW state planning authority seeking to increase the
approved energy export capacity of the solar farm, within the existing
development footprint, from 125 MW to up to 230 MW AC.
The modification application said that the ”increased
capacity would be achieved predominantly through upgrading the model of
proposed solar module, battery and inverter infrastructure”, and there were “no
changes to the approved general layout of the development”.
·
the development footprint of approximately 375
hectares
·
the solar PV panel numbers (approximately
450,000 single axis panels), height and foundation depth
·
or Battery Energy Storage System infrastructure
and storage capacity (approximately 180 battery units deployed in either
centralised or distributed format with 125 MW / 375 MWh capacity)
Development approval for the addition of a BESS was granted
in July last year.
Maryvale Solar Farm sits within the Central-West Orana REZ area
where there are around 50 solar, wind and battery projects proposed.
