New BESS planned for Fivebough/Leeton Solar Farms
Published Date : 2026-March-12, Thursday
CleanPeak Energy is planning to add a 40 MW BESS to its existing
Leeton and Fivebough Solar Farms, in the Riverina region of NSW, together with
replacement of existing inverters and DC conditioning equipment.
Four, 5 MW BESS units will be located on each of the two sites positioned centrally and adjacent to one another, allowing efficient integration with existing solar infrastructure, in a cleared and previously developed area.
Each BESS unit will consist of a modular Lithium Iron Phosphate battery housed in a purpose-built enclosure.
The systems will connect directly to the existing solar DC arrays and substations.
Key components of the proposed installation include 8 X EVE S556H2 BESS containers and 8 X EPC Power CAB1000 inverters in total, integrated with existing 33kV switchgear kiosks and inverter stations.
This is the first project being tracked in the AltEnergy database to select EVE Energy batteries.
Clean Peak Energy acquired the 12.26 MW total Fivebough and Leeton Solar Farms from developer Photon Energy in October 2024.
