Trina Solar lining up its third BESS project

Trina Solar has submitted a development application for its
proposed Kemerton Battery Energy Storage System in Wellesley, 15km south-west
of Harvey in WA's south-west region.
The Kemerton BESS will have a capacity of up to 660 MW with
four hours storage (2640 MWh) and will be constructed on an already cleared
18.75ha parcel of land.
The site is located in the Shire of Harvey's strategic
industrial precinct, the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area, close to the
Kemerton Terminal Station which connects to the SWIS network and is the closest
330/132 kV injection point into the Bunbury load area.
Construction will include up to 800 battery energy storage
system containers, 200 inverters with MV transformers, four high voltage
substations, two operations & maintenance buildings and two storage
facilities.
Trina is aiming to start construction of the BESS in Q3 of
2026, taking 24 months and employing up to 150 people.
Trina Solar is also developing the 500 MW Kiewa Valley BESS
project in Victoria, and the 270 MW Augusta BESS in Port Paterson, SA.
